  1. It seems there is not much content regarding hardware nowadays...not just on OCC but other sites (at least from what i can tell by the Hardware roundup and some other similar sites). Do companies not care as much as reviews because it seems with twitch and esports becoming huge these past few years there would be more demand for PC powerful gaming rigs Just curious!

i remember the 460 being one of those awesome bank for your buck types cards. Which card is like that nowadays? ATI/AMD or nVidia

    Problems running DOOM

damn.. now it just doesn't seem worth the 37 i paid for DOOM lol i don't know what other game i would be this excited for in the near future. i really only just play quake live and DOD:s (hardly play DOD:s at that)

    Problems running DOOM

I just bought the game and didn't think twice about checking if my pc can handle it. It's been a while since I ran into any gaming issues so I'm not used to checking beforehand. I just pressed play and it took like 10 minutes to load up and get to the main menu (although by default it had all the settings on high so maybe thats why). I tried running on medium and i was getting like 15-17FPS and running on low only got me to around 20-24FPS. I noticed the min requirements are: 64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8.1. Intel Core i5 @ 3.3 GHz or better / AMD FX-8320. 8 GB RAM. Nvidia GTX 670 2GB/ AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB VRAM) 6GB HDD space. Steam account. High speed internet connection And my specs are: Intel i5 2500k 3.7ghz 8GB DDR3 G.Skill 800mhz 11-11-11-28 500gb hdd GTX 460 (core=405mhz, shader=810mhz, memory=1800mhz...memory=768mb GDDR5) I tried running cpuz since i forgot what gpu i was running and it was showing the intel graphics my mobo uses so i dont know whats up with that (Currently updating my drivers, been a while since i did that!) Not sure if new drivers will help with the FPS though. Do you think i can get by if i overclock the cpu/gpu/ram?

how do you deal with sleep paralysis?

nope no meds did read something about not breathing properly during sleep can cause it and i have noticed waking up being really out of breath
  10. for the past week and a half its been happening every night. I know i havnt been getting much sleep lately but is that really the culprit? its pretty scary when it happens, sometimes i feel like im gonna be stuck like that for a looong time..until i finally snap out of it..so sick
  11. Hey guys not sure if anyone really is going to have a use for a whole rig+monitor but willing to try it out and hope for the best I'm planning on doing a bit of traveling and since i really dont play much games anymore i have no use for a gaming rig. Im hoping to trade for a decent laptop or just sell it all together. If i were to sell it, price would be $500. (i did a bit of price checking and all the parts seem to add up to approx $600-650 although i did mosty just check google/ebay/amazon) The components are as follows: Intel Core i5 2500k 95w Maximus IV GENE-Z Z68 Rev 1.xx G.Skill DDR3 F3-12800C9-4GBXL - 8gb total NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 Seasonic 520w ViewSonic VX2268WM Black 22" 1680x1050 5ms 120Hz 3D-Ready Widescreen LCD Monitor w/Speakers 300 cd/m2 1000:1 Everything is in good condition and works perfectly. The only thing that might be a con is the monitor stand is flimsy (but still stands up right and doesnt fall or anything like that) and the case is a bit old. I didnt really factor in the price of the case because im assuming someone will use their own or buy a new one altogether. Other than its a pretty sweet rig and all the main parts work just fine. I dont have any accessroesi like adapters or screws. Just the main parts and no hard drives. Pictures:

What's your PC plans for 2015?

been playing a TON of online poker..so i might just end up trading my rig for a suitable latop. Its a 2500k/8gigs/seasonic psu/GTX 460. Not too bad right?
  13. NIce i won a cpu cooler! Congrats to all the winners!
  14. Glad to see the forum is still as active as ever! I Hope the overclocking scene is the same. I got an email from xtremesystems about HWBOT and a new OC competition. Reminded me of this place Hows the PC enthusiast scene holding up? Have tablets/mobile done any serious damage yet? I hope not!

    this kid is insane

weight doesn't have that much to do with it. it's relative to each individual. being heavy is no excuse.
