Good ocing air cooler?

What is a good air cpu cooler around $60, my zalman cnps9700 does not seem to dissipate heat as good as other people have.

I have an intel qx9650, have it at 3.6 and am looking to push it to 4ghz. My temps are the only thing in the way. I get about 32c idle and 56 max load, usually 54c load.

In order of top 5 (for 60 dollars and under) : 1. Thermalright TRUE 120 / Noctua NH-U12P | 2. Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer 120mm | 3. Xigmatek HDT-S1284 | 4. Xigmatek HDT-S1283 | 5. Sunbeam TUNIQ Tower. Just so you know, 56 max load isn't bad at all for air cooling at 4ghz. I also get 56 max on my e8400 @ 4.2ghz with the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 cooler. It's great if you can get 5C lower with a TRUE 120 or whatever but in my opinion, 5C isn't worth paying double for those high end coolers. My Xigmatek does it's job very well for the price.

what's wrong with those temps, I treat anything under 62C as perfectly fine, and under load from Prime 95, I'm happy with anything under 68C. My quad puts out about 65C on Prime 95 with max fan speeds, and during the day while I fold with it, with the fans as low as they go, it stays at 60C

I heard somewhere that the Core Contact beat the TRUE in cooling ability (since we already know it wins the price debate haha)

1C lower for a Q9450 for OCC's review.

But really it all depends on the set-up and environment.

Push-pull, types of fans (CFM/RPM), casing, ambient temps, quad or duo ect.

ya I must had missed that we reviewed that. i really like my sunbeam fan controller I just bought recently to hush my scythes. I wonder what would win between both coolers in a push/pulling setup.

Wow, a lot of information! Thanks for the replies :)

I'm at 3.6, so I thought going to 4.0-4.2 would get me around 66 max. Wanted a better cooler.

I have this case

I'm looking at this HS you suggested

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835207004

So there really isn't much of a difference between the Sunbeam CR-CCTF Core-Contact Freezer and the Thermalright true 120?

That Sunbeam looks nice. In the newegg pics it shows the bottom with the heatpipes, do the heatpipes actually contact the IHS directly?
