Cell Phones - Whaddya Use?

Technology is moving along so damn fast these days, keeping up with the Joneses is expensive. I know many people ALWAYS have to have the newest/trendiest stuff out there, while others prefer the "old reliable".

I got into the Cell Phone thing around 2000 or so. After a few different phones, problems, deaths, and an auto mishap (phone/tire) I finally had stuck to Nokia. After many of their models, I'm still using the 6255i, which some of my co-workers think looks like a folding brick. Well... After seeing 4-5 of my coworkers returning their Razr's due to unexplainable and utter failures, and a few more having their new touch screen thingamajigs lock up, My 6255i is still going strong. B:)

What do you use, and what have you had positive/negative experiences with?

Motorola Q

I like it. It's got a very sturdy feel too it. Not plastic-y like a lot of phones. Some people find it too large (specifically too wide), but I have big hands and it fits nicely in them. I personally like the thickness (or lack there-of). It's a little less than a half inch thick, I think. I find thick phones uncomfortable in my front pockets.

I dislike the lack of a touch screen and some of the more PDA-style features, but I'm simply not willing to pay the extra few hundred dollars for them, so the compromise is acceptable for me.

I really like Nokia's phone. I owned a Nokia 6682 before the Iphone 2G came out, it was wonderful

I picked up an Iphone the first day they came out and have been in love with it ever since. There wonderful phones

I picked up an Iphone 3G 16gb About 2 weeks ago, Just because the price was right and I had a $100 Dollar Apple Instore credit frm my first Iphone

Iphone 2G DisLikes

Iphone 3G Advantages

Everything from the Above list

Phone hardly freezes

GPS Chip

Touch Screen seems to Work better

Flush Headphone Jack

Battery Charges Faster

Iphone 3G Disadvantages

Shorter Battery Life

GPS Kills Battery life

No turn by Turn guidance ( Like car GPS's)

3G is no faster than Edge ( from what I can tell)

Poor 3G coverage ( 50% of time I'm on the EDGE network)

Removed Firewire Charging Capabilities.

Firewire charging capabilities refers to like anything that used the Firewire part of the charging port to charge the Iphone/Ipods

Well apple removed this on the 3G Iphone so my car charger no longer will charge my Iphone since I moved to the Iphone 3G. Alot of accessories used the firewire portion

Currently using an iPhone 3G and couldn't be happier :D

I had the option, but chose the Omnia, as Windows Mobile has much more in terms of customisable software out there ready to go. I'm sure iPhone hacks are about too, but I just found WM to be a bit more useful for me :) The GF has an iPhone 3G, and it's nice. Shame that so much is lacking though :(
