Risensun Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 (edited) Yeah..haven't played as much since msn zone stopped hosting. Not a lot of good matchmaking sites out there for AoE2. Mostly just do LANs with friends. Edited November 10, 2008 by Risensun

cjloki Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 What old games are you guys still playing on your new rigs? I just got IL-2 Sturmovik today in the mail, I bought it for $5 on ebay last week. I haven't played it in years since on my HP with a 433mhz Celeron and a Geforce MX420. Hopefully my new system will play it. I like Star trek armada too, but my new rig wont play it. I also like Silent Hunter II but it wont play either. I guess thats why I keep my HP 560w around. I saw the updated IL-2 1946 is at Circuit City for $20, I might buy that soon. a friend turned me on to an old copy of return to castle wolfenstein a minute ago....couldn't get it to load on 64 bit...put it on my wife's bobo dell....ran like a champ....go figure....!! QMax Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 (edited) If anyones looking for some old games, here's a great site. http://nahoo.net/downloads/games/ -Descent I, II and III -SimCity classic, 2000 and 3000! -Age of Empires and Age of Kings -Worms and Worms 2 -Dune and Dune II -Warcraft and Warcraft II!! And much much more! Even old programs like Paint Shop Pro! I could make commercials right? Almost forgot about this site, even bigger repetoire of old games, so many you'll have a hard time finding the one you want, unless you use the handy search tool. Abandonia My personal favourites go to SimFarm and SimTower, if you want a really challenging Sim game try SimTower. Let's not forget the great games still(?) developed to this day. ADOM is my personal favorite. Others may be more interested in NetHack. Who needs graphics when you have imagination? QMax Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 (edited) Angband is awesome as well, forgot to mention that one. Better if you prefer some graphics, plus has a great way of using multiple windows to display what you want. Oh man Descent 3. I loved that game. It came included in a 32mb AGP 4x (omg 4x) ATI Rage 128 Pro by a no name company called eVGA. I bought that video card at Comp USA. And yes, I'm quite certain eVGA made it. My how things change, rofle. Anyways, I remember fondly a map called "Worlds Apart" with some type of hyper-transport-tube-thing linking two symmetric bases. And who can forget the Monsterball levels? roflllleee Edited November 21, 2008 by wump
