momoceio Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Should the Intel OC section have a 4GGGG club since that seems to be rather hard to reach with the C2Ds without overheating...or maybe even a 3.8 or 3.9 club. Just a thought

Just a thought I think once we see some people pulling 4G's maybe then....but at the moment I'm not sure many are OCDB stable past 3.9 or so without exotic cooling. I'm sure in a few months we'll be seeing something along those lines though.

Just a thought I would like to see it in time as it would be something to aim at like the AMD 3GHZ Club that thread set the benchmark that everyone aspired to. At the moment there are only 2 4GHZ + entry’s in the OCDB so it would be a poor club but I am sure it will come soon.
Splave Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 yeah I would agree anything over 3.7ghz stable is a job well done lol mine was stuck at 3.6ghz
Thraxz Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I'd think that 3.75 is a nice round number.... kinda.
Chump Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I'd think that 3.75 is a nice round number.... kinda. I did this one the other day but just hadn't put it up 3773MHZ
momoceio Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Maybe with the next round of C2D procs it will be more attainable...hopefully they work on making the chip run a bit cooler.
Angry_Games Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 well we could always start a 4G club and watch how all the entries are exotic cooled for a couple months and then you'd probably see a gradual or maybe a quick turn to water and then possibly even air cooled
TheFlowerKing Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 It'll be pretty quiet for half a year. I'm just waiting for K10 to bring back some more entries into the AMD C3G Quad core at 3GHz? Why, don't mind if I do! Edit: JC! Talk about digging up an old thread!?! LOL @ myself
EdLSmith Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Someone and we have a few of these people aboard could probably turn 4GHZ with the X6800 and cooled by a couple of 320Watt Pelts. I burnt out two Infinity 975X boards and an X6800 at 3.8 GHZ and only completed 2 hours of Orthos. My, this is very challenging. I may try something soon. I'm using my left hand on the keyboard and I'm back at the Gym working on my Bench Press. My shoulders and back are sore but it feels real good. My left hand isn't shaking and my cane is hanging in the closet.
TheFlowerKing Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Heh, I'd say if anyone here is going to crack 4GHz it'll be you Ed! Nice to see you're bouncing back and into the game with the same passion as before!
knopflerbruce Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 It will be hard for e6300 owners to make into that 4G club I think:p
