Good Opteron 170 Stepping from newegg

CustomBuild

Recommended Posts

Just started OCing and bought a Opteron 170 last week from newegg ( wanted the 10x multiplier for some PC3200 RAM, which I have since replaced with PC4000 but oh well).

It is a CCBBE 0610DPMW which appears to OC very well. I may be able to make the 3k club after working some more on my cooling. I am going up slow so far. Was able to hit 2800MHz at stock/auto voltage (which I believe is 1.35 even though BIOS reads 1.31). I failed Prime on one core after 1hr at 2850MHz at stock voltage. Upped it to 1.375 (BIOS 1.34) and Prime has been going for 3hrs so far.

If nothing else I am pretty happy with 2800@stock. I may be able to hit 2900 ~1.4V and 3k at ~1.5. I could live with that :D

What warehouse was it shipped from?

I don't have the shipping label/box anymore, but my email shipping notice says it shipped (12/19) from La Puente, CA. FedEx tracking says it was picked up at CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA. Don't know if that helps, but that is all the info I have.

Watch those temps as you increase voltage heh ;)

Yea, I know :) Right now I am Prime stable at [email protected] with load temp of 38 from MBM and 40 from Core Temp @21C ambient (I see about +17C at load). I tried [email protected] and was Prime failed after 3 hrs but temp remained in the +17C range. I would like to get that to a +13C delta to give me margin when ambient goes up to 26C (which it does unfortnately).

I would like to stay under 45C (Core Temp), but maybe that is not necessary. I need to do some more research to see what temps people are successfully running at.
