I was just getting ready to email the info to you hawkeyefan :)

Problem is the x64 WDM drivers load the old 84.37 which isn't too stable in Vista.

If you load them you should be able to get it working after adding coolbits.

But it did allow me to get the HDTV working as a second monitor as well.

Maybe if you mess around you can give us some ideas.

I don't think the Vista Vid Drivers support the old control panel and of course the new one doesn't seem to work in x64.

I think I may have gotten the nV Monitor (nTune working) PCI-e Freq?

Had it Overclocked as normal and I'm sure it didn't help any :D

No idea what the hale happened actually. Post back if you get a brainstorm

VooDooGuru posted this regarding getting rid of the shortcut arrows in Vista

doG, how I hate those things... Does anyone else find them as irritating as I do?

Since TweakUI doesn't work in VIsta, to completely remove the shortcut arrow, open the registry and delete the Isshortcut from the following three keys:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTlnkfile

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTpiffile

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTInternetShortcut

Then reboot

Might as well get rid of the -shortcut tag, too while you are at it (I hate that, too!)

Find this key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer]

Change the value to:

00 00 00 00

gotcha, totally misunderstood. thought you meant you had the CP working on the Vista 88.61s. I got the 91.31 x64 working like this a couple days ago, working CP, optimizations and overclock control. Problem is everytime you fire up a 3D app the nv4_disp.dll causes BSODs. then if you replace nv4_disp.dll/nv4_mini.sys with nvlddmkm.sys/nv3d3um.dll, 3D apps work but then you lose the CP again

I'm starting to believe NV is just holding out on us with working CP...probably too busy getting Quad SLI drivers ready to mess with Vista packs right now. Hopefully when August-ish / RC1 stage rolls around, we will see a fully functional set.

there's got to be some uber-geek modder that can get the CP going. I put this up for consideration @ Guru3d and TweaksRUs, still no takers. I'll give NGO a shot but that's the last option.

I like these

Enabling L2 Cache

1. Go to your start menu and go to Search bar and type REGEDIT

2. Select and open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

3. Select and open SYSTEM

4. Select and open CurrentControlSet

5. Select and open Control

6. Select and open Session Manager

7. Select and open Memory Management

8. Select SecondLevelDataCache and right click it and click Modify

9. The normal the decimal is 0, change that decimal to your current L2 cache

Now, vista should run faster for some users. Some it wont.

- If your cpu is dual core.. add both of them together, Say I had 512KB L2 + 512KB L2 well add them together and that would be 1024

.....................................................................................................

Large System Cache

1. Go to your start menu and go to Search bar and type REGEDIT

2. Select and open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

3. Select and open SYSTEM

4. Select and open CurrentControlSet

5. Select and open Control

6. Select and open Session Manager

7. Select and open Memory Management

8. Find LargeSystemCache , right click on it to Modify

9. Put the decimal to 1

This allows the Kernel to Run in memory improves system performance alot. For some users

I was just screwing around in Paint shop and came up with this little twist on an old classic;

I just figured I'd share.

Everytime I tweak something it seems faster.

But I am pretty sure it is the "placebo" effect. :)

Think I have now tried every tweak I could find and it is running very smooth.

Sorely in need of new nVidia drivers but this Beta isn't that bad.

Whether it's worth all the effort compared to x32 or x64 Edition is doubtful at this point.

Still trying to find where everything is located. Seems like their are a half dozen ways to do anything in it.

Just spent a half hour installing the printer because I had disabled "Print Spooler" under services. I'm Such a "dufus". :D
