jelly Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 You sould not have a problem with dual boot. The only problem that I can see comming for that is if the drive dies. But that can happen with xp also. Just do a good backup of you xp before you repartition your hard drive and you are in good shape! ollietwinam Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Cool thanks Nah, hard-drives already partitioned, I thought ahead when I started the build
ollietwinam Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Hmm the NForce audio isn't installing, and Vista refuses to recognise my speakers as 5.1.. Any tips?
Raphie Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Nforce audio is included in RTM, panel is accessible through control panel
ollietwinam Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Yeah I've tried going to Sound and it shows I have speakers connected, but only 2 out of the 5 (6)... And the only option under "configure" is Stero
soundx98 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 We really need to know what Build you are using since there are so many changes from RC1 to RTM. You should be able to get the NV Audio driver through Windows Update with earlier builds.
soundx98 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Realtek 6201 was released Yesterday (11/27). Pretty sure it's working on ALL Vista x86 builds ftp://202.65.194.18/pc/audio/6201_Vista_APO.zip
Guest Jon Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Hmm the NForce audio isn't installing, and Vista refuses to recognise my speakers as 5.1..Any tips? Â Use the realtek drivers for the audio instead of the Nforce Drivers, download the newest beta AC 97 drivers and you will be good to go with 5.1 Works great for me, and the audio is very good. Â The Vista driver is the top one, for those that are confused easy, lol. Â realtek downloads

gearhead13 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I installed RC1 on a seperate pata 80g hdd and unplugged my others so my bootloader wouldnt get messed up. Good and stable was able to get drivers from the install for everything but my parallel card. One other thing it couldnt install, cant remember what. Got drivers from creative and nVidia and no problems. Not sure if my SATA raid 0 or SLI setup would work or settings and files transfer from XP. MY XP is messed up so I was thinking of running the RC1. Build is 5600 i think.
Raphie Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Guys RC1 is no more, forget about all builds before RTM. Both license model and Signed drivers are now active. which makes all pre RTM version obsolete and a complete waste of time.
