CharmedLover84 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 ... wow... SLI sucks when yer processor is runnin' this darn slow, lemme tell ya. My 06 score was pathetic, but it passed LOL I'm runnin' 03 to make sure it passes the "hardest test" LOL and then I think i'll save the BIOS to CMOS Reloaded and cran to 323x9 (2.9) at around 1.475Vs, see what she tells me. farksy Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Oh ok. Go for it ! We are all behind you for this 3Ghz attempt.
CharmedLover84 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Okay, i got it to boot and test at 3GHz but I backed it off to 2.9 cuz I don't wanna get frustrated if 3GHz is not stable over and over, gonna make 2.9 stable first (as most likely unless I can get 3GHz to run better, which most of the time I've had to turn my ram down so much it doesn't, I'll be running at 2.9 or so most of the time). I'm not sure whether it's turning my Max Async and Preamble down or the voltage increase to 1.5 that made 2.9 boot up flawlessly, but with the tempies I'm getting at 1.5, tis fine by me (around the same temps I got outta my FX-60 at 2.9 flat.) And oh yeah... someone wanna explain this BS to me: DRAM is currently set to 133 FSB is at 323 How the f**k is my ram reading out at 414MHz? Thraxz Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Sounds about right. 323 * 2/3 ~ 215mhz~207. The dividers are not perfect just very close.
TheFlowerKing Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 The dividers are affected by the multi you are running as well.
CharmedLover84 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 DFI boards can magicaly overclock your RAM all by itself? LMAO I meant why is it that 323x9 being my CPU and 266 being the ram speed default, how exactly does 123+123+266=414MHz? Cuz it should equal a lot more. Regardless, I now have it running at almost exactly the same settings as I was my 60 at 2.9GHz (only difference is it seems to be faster, despite my RAM ASync/Preamble being at 8.0/5.5 respectively) Passed 05 with 15463, AM3 with 118K, gonna run 06, then 03, and if it passes 03 I seriously doubt Prime will be a problem, cuz like I said, I've had Prime-stable settings on my Asus board in the past turn out to not run 03 (back when I had my FX-55 @ 3GHz, it was Prime stable for 12 hours I believe, yet it wouldn't pass 03 with a single 7800GTX 512MB... think that was back before NVidia drivers fully supported the 512s though). Anywho, off to run 6, I'll report the score in this post.
oc newbie Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 (3/2x9)=13.5 round up to 14. 323x9=2907. 2907/14=207.6 or ddr 414:) It's a little confusing at first but becomes second nature after awhile. Each multiplier is going to affect the actual divider.
Kingfisher Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Stop watching prime run lol , I set my screen saver so I can't see. Every hour or so I hit the space bar, it's like roulette, is it still going or ....

And =-O Holy crap. 9963 on 06 and I"m only at 2.9... can't wait to get 3GHz stable, 10.2 will probably be mine.
Thraxz Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Hey guys, I'm working on an OC with an AM2 MSI board and a 4200+ but I really want to get the memory OC done right. I have no friggin clue about this ram. I set it at the 800 divider and it gives me the mem speed at 209 Mhz but also says I'm using the CPU/5 divider. my HTT is 209. my processor speed is at 209x11=2299.... 2300/5 = 459x2 = 920. WTF... there is no way this ddr800 mem can run 920Mhz at 4-4-4-14-1t @2.0v.. can it? It's the 2x1gig OCZ PC6400 5-5-5-15 Gold sticks. Help the DDr2 is messing with my mind!
