If my memory is working it is c:windowssystem32wpa.dbl and you just drop it back in system32 when done. If that is not it let me know and i'll try to find it again.

A benching partition might help alot.

Xs has a stripped down version of a certain windows [2003 or Xp] but it's all good, at least you won't mess your files up due to instability :D

Ok. Now that i'm here, clocked and just whacked my records.

Previous 1mil record was around 26.7/26.8 ...

Now, 26.531 :D [3070-> 307x10] - I suppose you can omit the decimal places.

Previous 32mil 24min 53s, now 24min 23s :D [3030 - 303x10] -> Same for decmial places.

Alrighty, I'll try that after I bench to make sure 1.8 is good to go LOL

Going straight for a 1.1GHz OC, kinda ridiculous but hey, I want at least the same performance I had before... which unfortunately I have to RMA my OCZ sticks apparently, darn things won't work in here now... either that or my Opty Memory Controller dun like the OCZ PC4000 sticks :( either way I'm ticked about that, but my Patriot 2-3-2-5-1T stuff is runnin' great thus far :-D it can only OC to around 446 but I won't need it LOL

Welp, tried a few different settings at that before I gave up on 2.9 or 3, yet ;) RAM I have in now is the TCCD so it ain't exactly somethin' the mobo likes

Got it running at 2.7GHz right now. 1.425Vs in the BIOS, would try lowering the voltage but meh, it's still idling at 25-27C.

Gonna run the benchies to see if she's stable (RAM is only running at 450MHz to make sure it's not the issue if it is unstable).

If she's stable, I'll report back soon on the results. Not expecting anything spectacular as 2.7 is no 2.9 or 3 and 450 is no 500 ;) even at 2.5-4-4-10 lol

Geez I really wished I had the money you do to throw at my rig....

Anyways, the three keys to these chips are "ram settings," "ram settings," and "ram settings." (I know I repeat this over and over but I will anyway) For example, a stupid tref change from 3120 to 4710 is what held my chip back from 2.97 to 3.0. If you want 3Gs, start working on that ram like it mafia basher getting his $100k loan back.

Yeah.

I haven't messed with the ram yet but I have determined at my current settings ain't no voltage, ain't no number, gonna make it boot higher than 2.7 as is.

I'll work on it whenever I have time.

And PFFFT I put 200 bucks in to a processor that I am hoping will get the job done, if it doesn't, I'll simply swap back to the 60, put the one that's in here now in my sister's rig and optimize it for that, then take the one that's in her's now and sell it.

It's alway about equalizing out cost with sales ;) LOL

Thraxz, has anyone ever told you yer a freakin' genius?

I couldn't get past the last BIOS screen before this.

Rebooted, set the voltage to 1.59 like yours, set the TREF to 4708 (relaxed my other ram settings). Booted right up at 334x9 like I was running at 2.7 LOL

God I hope this is actually stable. If so, it may be 3G time for me :-D

currently I have it set (I may be wrong about some of the crap) like this:

Genie BIOS Settings:

FSB Bus Frequency............................. - 334

LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio....................... - 3x

CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio....................... - 9x

PCI eXpress Frequency......................... - 101Mhz

CPU VID StartUp Value......................... - Auto

CPU VID Control............................... - 1.525V

CPU VID Special Control....................... - + 104.8%

LDT Voltage Control........................... - 1.30v

Chip Set Voltage Control...................... - 1.59v

DRAM Voltage Control.......................... - 2.87V

DRAM Configuration Settings:

DRAM Frequency Set............................ - 100=RAM/FSB:01/02

Command Per Clock (CPC)....................... - Enable

CAS Latency Control (Tcl)..................... - 2.5

RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd)..................... - 3

Min RAS# active time (Tras)................... - 8

Row precharge time (Trp)...................... - 3

Row Cycle time (Trc).......................... - 11 Bus Clocks

Row refresh cyc time (Trfc)................... - Auto

Row to Row delay (Trrd)....................... - 03 Bus Clocks

Write recovery time (Twr)..................... - 03 Bus Clocks

Write to Read delay (Twtr).................... - 02 Bus Clocks

Read to Write delay (Trwt).................... - 03 Bus Clocks

Refresh Period (Tref)......................... - 4708 Cycles

DRAM Bank Interleave.......................... - Enabled

DQS Skew Control.............................. - Increase Skew

DQS Skew Value................................ - 50

DRAM Drive Strength........................... - auto

DRAM Data Drive Strength...................... - auto

Max Async Latency............................. - 7ns

DRAM Response Time............................ - normal

Read Preamble Time............................ - 5ns

IdleCycle Limit............................... - 16 Cycles

Dynamic Counter............................... - Disable

R/W Queue Bypass.............................. - 16 x

Bypass Max.................................... - 07 x

32 Byte Granularity........................... - Disable(4 Bursts)

Note: I HAVE RUN NO BENCHIES ON THIS YET.

However, anyone got any recommendations other than trying to tighten up my main timings (which I plan on doing because in CPUZ it's only showing the ram is running at 167x2, so basically it's not even running at a full 400MHz, I think it can handle some tighter timings.

I'm thinkin' 2-3-2-5-1T again if I can get it to run that tight, and leave the rest of it loose-ish? Whatcha think?

Gotta agree with the whole post :D

As for the tref thing, it sortta true too, usually on your quest to your goal you would most probably overlook something pretty simple.

The other time, i wanted to change TRRD to 0 clocks, but ended up changing TRP to 0 clocks, BIOS would not POST and i spend 30 minutes trying to figure out what the hell actually happened. lol.
