new official BIOS 04/06/2006

Recommended Posts

There is a brandnew official BIOS for "normal" NF4 LanParty boards on DFI homepage named NF4LD406.EXE. The file is dated April 6th.

Look here: http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/bios..._FLAG=A&SITE=US

At the moment the file is not downloadable, but DFI is obviously working on it.

Fernando

EDIT: DFI has changed their BIOS pages.

Here you can find the download links to the new official BIOS:

This new bios has worked well for me too, just remember to do the whole BIOS clear before and after the update - saves so much hassle!!

System was previously prime stable (24hrs) with bios 623-3 but would occasionally reboot when using IE or watching video...very wierd.

This would not happen during 2-3hrs of looping 3dmark (2001, 2003 and 2005) loops or during playing FEAR. I was thinking PSU, but its got 29A split across 2x 12V rails that should be enough!

Will do all my usual stuff using this new BIOS and try to get the systen to reboot - hopefully its fixed the problem!! Everything seems ok so far - am fresh installing Windows too which will probably help.

Matt

P.S. I have a raid-0 array that was unaffected by the bios upgrade, just remember to set the sata ports you were using for your raid in the bios before trying to boot!

(P.P.S How'd ya'll like my new Signature!!)

I can confirm this.

My Raid0 system is rock stable with the new BIOS, unless I am running at 220 Mhz (+10%).

So the new BIOS seems to be very suitable for RAMs with TCCD chips, which might be different to the Beta version from 30/03/2006.

So can anyone tell me the differences between these and the Tony/bigtoe modded bioses. Are they the same (it is my understanding that Tony's have relaxed timings and boot at 2T for compatability purposes). I realize that these are "Official".

Pyr0 did you look at the two Venus Bioses? Flashed the latest?

Fernando did you notice any differences? Anyone compare?

As I did not test neither the Beta BIOS dated 03/30/2006 nor the modded one, I can't write about differences between those versions and the new official BIOS dated 06/04/2006.

The only thing I can say is, that I am very impressed about the stability and the overclocking potential of new official BIOS. My RAM sticks have TCCD chips.

got ya, was trying to figure out if they had incorporated Tony's mods into the Official one.

My rig is working too well but the latest embedded NV Raid Bios intrigues me.

Im wondering the same thing.. Tony's bios was just a tweaked version of the 32906 bios but he changed the date code to 4606..

And now this official is dated 4606.. hmmm..
