Ghost2520 Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 I still believe the 5900 Ultra to be the best card out there stock... don't you think $300 is a little much for a used card? I've seen them on Ebay for less. <_<

Ziggy54354 Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 9800xt kinda sucks the 9800 pro at 300$ can oc just as high after u spend like 40$ in cooling. Don't get me wrong though, the 9800xt is a great card, but the price doesnt justify it.
FanATIc205 Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 but it will bring the price of the 9800s down

bigred Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 poor nvidia. they just keep getting kicked in the ribs while they're down. I think the biggest news of the whole thing ins't the new ati card itself... but asus dumping nvidia too!
TypicalSloan Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 Yah asus switching over to ati is a big win for ati.
bigred Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 I don't think it's so bad except Asus was the #2 in sales of nvidia cards and #1 in the only real competitor to the AIW with their vivo cards... with visiontek (formerly #3 in nvidia sales) brought back to life by sapphire, and asus jumping ship, I have a feeling nvidia's best bet is to keep the nforce going strong. they should also look into the intel end of things to get thier name on some P4/P5 products before ATI gets rolling with thier chipsets for amd chips. They've also got Via breathing down thier necks with the top selling athlon 64 chipset, and a DUAL opteron chipset with AGP (nforce 3 pro 150 can't do smp), a strong performing P4 dual channel chip and a decent (notice not the best) socket A chipset with a dual channel version coming soon to go right at the nforce2. Sis could also put a serious damper on Nvidia unless then get things going on the P4 side.
