soloz2 Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 yeah, this program is nice. It showed within a few degrees what mmb5 was telling me all along. I always figured that I got a board that was accurate, but now I know

antony_and Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 hello i've just installed Smartguardian onto my rig, and i was very unhappy when i saw my cpu is at(apparently) 70 Degrees C. My Chipset is at only 43 and my PWMIC is at 34 is there another program i could use to see if this temperature is correct?

davidk21770 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 What does your BIOS report? I use MBM5. Here's how to set it up: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6798 Another program that's on your install disk is nTune. It also will report your temperatures. Note that any program that scans the SMBUS will cause your computer to instantly reboot. Check the docs to see how to prevent any monitor program that you try from scanning it. soundx98 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 David21770 is speakeking of SANDRA and Speedfan issues with the expert. If you use them do this http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=10...890&postcount=8 MBM5 and Smart Guardian will gove almost identical temperatures. MBM5 will allow you to read GPU Temps and clocks. You make want to try the free trial of Everest 3.01 located at www.lavlays.com. If you like it (it's very good), Click on the link below a moderator's sig and DFI-stree gets a token "finders fee". 70 degrees is extremely hot. If that is a correct temperatire, Shut down and remount your heat sink.
ErmaC Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Ever Since i Flashed my Bios to 04/06 I think I am getting decent temp readings on stock Heatink/Fan What do you guys think Ambient Temp = 24 C CPU Core = 37 C PWM AREA = 46 C Chip SET = 50 C

Did that long ago. I was just remembering the 1st time that I tried speed fan (and MBM5 and SiSoft Sandra on the same day!) on my Expert and my system instantly rebooted. Took me a while to discover the reason. I was sure that something was wrong with my system or my win install.
iljasonii Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Has anyone found a fix for a negative temperature reading. My board have been in the negatives since I purchased it. I ran multiple programs which all gives different readings and I do not know which ones is correct. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Redbeaver Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 hola bump on an old thread.... seems to be having *problem* here wit my expert.... as with Everest, i've been seeing 3 temperatures reported from this board. The temp is labeled as 'CPU', 'core 0', and 'core 1' (or 1 and 2 whichever rocks ur boat). the cores seems to be pretty close to each other, albeit on load it could go as far as 7 degrees apart. but the 'CPU' values is way different than the cores. here we go: @idle CPU (everest=mbm=ITEsmartGuardian) = 27~30 Core1 (everest=CoreTemp) = 42~45 Core2 (everest=CoreTemp) = 42~43 CPU vs Core1/2 ---> 10~15deg difference.... hmmm.... odd.... @load CPU (everest=mbm=ITE) = 40~47 Core1 (everest=CoreTemp) = 60~68 Core2 (everest=CoreTemp) = 59~62 CPU vs Core1/2 ---> 15~30deg difference???? WTF????? there u have it. example screenshots are in a thread on the amd oc thread...umm...i'll find it will update later. which one is correct?????????? neither? both? screenies: <-- the everest is on the taskbar bottom right... if i open it up, i can see the CPU value which is the same wit ITE... here you can see the 'CPU' is 45, and the cores are 60~61 and 66~67. colour coded colour coded
likewhoa Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Redbeaver at those temps it looks about right, can you show some CoreTemp temperature readings next to some mbm/everest? My temperatures while idle are 5-7C difference between both core in "CoreTemp" but on load they are 0-2C difference. I wouldn't worry about 5-10C difference in temp readings in Everest/A64info as on your screenshots it's in the 5-7C difference but again that's on load not on idle,.. so you might want to remount if you're unsure. Redbeaver Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 ok ... which one "looks about right"? lol is my CPU temperature is the lower number by ITE/Everest's 'CPU', or the Cores reported by A64info/CoreTemp? the 40's or the 60's?? im not worried at all about the difference between the cores. there's 2 actual cores in there so i can understand that much. but about 20C difference between "CPU" and "core1/2" ?? wtf? lol its not the difference between the programs. i showed the screenshots to prove that the programs are CORRECT becoz between them there are only 1~3C difference. but i've been seeing 2 different kind of temps here, and thats where im confused. i'll get u that screenshot. i'll need to warm up the cpu first abit here we go: idle: colourcodes: red = 'CPU' readings. Everest and MBM seems to agree on the same thing. blue = 'core1/2' readings. Everest and CoreTemp agree on the same thing. problem is, one is 29C, the other is 38C.... 9C different? hmmmm.......... but i can live with that. load (5min Orthos): colourcodes: red = 'CPU' readings. Everest=MBM. blue = 'core1/2' readings. Everest=CoreTemp (1deg difference, no prob) the BIG problem is...... one is 47, the other is 60/68 respectively........ THAT'S 13~21C DIFFERENCE!!! so who's the liar here ?
