derekoldschool Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 A new bios (4/6/06) is out for the Expert I just clicked on the link and the bios date is May 6, 2006 Revision A Date Code 2006/04/06 File NF4ED406.ZIP Size 424,992 bytes just making sure people dont think this bios is June 4, 2006 - after checking the dates on the other files on that page, it appears DFI has adopted the convention of yyyy/mm/dd
dhopper Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Good job DFI. Great BIOS. Also, if Opterons aren't supported by the NF4 then why did they have an update in this BIOS regarding Opterons? Hmmm... please explain.
red930 Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 it appears DFI has adopted the convention of yyyy/mm/dd For Clarity! This link is to the current BIOS... http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/bios..._FLAG=A&SITE=US The date, 2006/04/06 stands for April, 6th 2006 This was the release date of the BIOS. DFI has always posted the BIOS date as YYYY/MM/DD.

Hmmm... please explain. Great, JUST GREAT! Now AMD will see this post and pull all official support from DFI. Thanks a lot! LOL Just because AMD won't allow "official" support for a server processor on a desktop motherboard, doesn't mean DFI can't help their customers out a bit. dinos22 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 looks like there's a breakthrough in actual CPU core temp readings from CPU's sensor rather than mobo one.........................here is a thread over at XS with all the info.........sorry if posted already http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=103639
soundx98 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Thanks dinos22. TheCoolest's program is working fine in Vista x64. Almost identical to MBM5 on this Venus. Will try different voltage/ temp/ OSes later. Thanks for bringing this to our attention
red930 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Temps match EVEREST for a 3700 San Diego on a LPnF4 and a 4600 Windsor AM2 on a non-DFI motherboard. I'll check some rigs at work on Friday.
dinos22 Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Temps match EVEREST for a 3700 San Diego on a LPnF4 and a 4600 Windsor AM2 on a non-DFI motherboard. I'll check some rigs at work on Friday. non-DFI board heheheh it's also good to know the difference between two cores.....and if one crapping out in priming is due to temps or something else....... DFI bios upgrade possible to read this sensor....? Just a thought
