Hey. My current RAM has just been having issues off and on. I'm lookin to get 2x1GB because I'm a big gamer/video editor and a few other things. Only thing is my oc was at 2.86 stable until the ram randomly got upset. Essentially I want to run the ram close to sync if possible. I posted a couple 2x512 as I wasnt sure how much the performace difference would be, I'm clueless about TCCD and new memory modules. :(

Most importantly though I want RAM that I know will work with my setup. I've been a pretty big supporter of Corsair but with all the issues people are having I've decided I need to check out some other options. My top three, in no specific order are:

- Mushkin eXtreme Performance XP4400 [2x512MB] (TCCD) [2.5-4-4-8]

Part number: 991400

- OCZ EL DDR PC-4800 Platinum Elite Edition [2x512MB] (TCCD) [2.5-4-4-10] [2-2-2-5]

Part number: OCZ6001024EEPE-K

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227217

- OCZ EL DDR PC-4000 Gold Edition [2x1GB] (UCCC) [3-4-4-8]

Part number: OCZ5002048ELGE-K

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227219

Im open to RAM not on the list. But if im correct, for my usage, TCCD is the best. I'd prefer to keep it close to the $200 range but I can stretch it a little if there's more bang for my buck. Thanks in advance!

I'm running the RAM Sharp has posted, I don't have anything OC'ed yet, as I don't know how yet, but at DDR400, I've got my RAM runnin at 1.5-2-2-5 and haven't had any problems whatsoever!! GEIL makes 2 versions of this RAM, one is TCCD and the other is BH5, make sure you get the one that you want. I got mine off of newegg as that's the cheapest I could find it at...

Thanks for the response Sharp. I've been thinkin that with the OC people are getting on Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB kit and given my fsb, I should be able to get close to 1:1. Would that be a good idea or bad? People are having good success with Ballistix, right?

Hello,

This is probably the best TCCD 2x512MB kit around.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820144341

I have Geil One TCCD (the 2x256 single-sided kit) and it is awesome. Everybody who looks for high-end TCCD won't have to look further. Zipzoomfly has it cheaper, though.

I recently bought Geil One BH and first results look very good, too.

Lots of people have had very good results with the BallistiX range but there are a few that cannot say this.

I think we need a poll to see the actual amount of people that had a bad set of Crucial BallistiX memory modules.

I would not be put of by this but if you want total peace of mind, get one of the OCZ kits.
