Myrsky: yes it will work 200MHz 2.5-3-3-8 @ 2.6V, maybe go for 2.7v.

The only problem is when people put a lot of voltage through it.

Warrior Legolas: Yes, my list needs to be updated ;)

I want to buy 2x 512 MB for my comming DFI board.

PQI have a nice price:

512MB x 2 (1GB) PC3500 DDR, CL2.5 (PQI, PQI3500-1024DB):157,38 Euro's

512MB x 2 (1GB) PC4000 DDR, CL3 (PQI, PQI4000-1024DB): 171 Euro's

512MB x 2 (1GB) PC4200 DDR, CL3 (PQI, PQI4200-1024DB): 162 Euro's

512MB x 2 (1GB) PC4400 DDR, CL3 (PQI, PQI4400-1024DB): 213 Euro's

Can somebody explain the price difference between PQI and other brands concerning overclock

And is than the only difference that they are tested and than taged 3500, 4000, 4200 or 4400?

If so, does the stated speed also say something about the overclock performance and how mush impact must I expect?

It would serve you well to check out the OCDB if anyone is using any of the one's you listed and go from there. My Corsairs are beaten by my Patriot and the XBLK are a lot cheaper. Point is to do a bit of research and you will be happy with your purchase in the end.

I think the OCDB is offline, or could it be that the site is overloaded?

I have decided to insert 2 GB of memory.

If I'm talking about 512 modules I will insert 4 of them.

OCZ 2x1GB PC4000 Platinum EB Series Dual Channel Kit

tested results from http://www.insanetek.com/review.php?id=92

• 200MHz 2.0-3-2-5 1T 2.6v

• 225MHz 2.0-3-2-5 1T 2.6v

• 250MHz 2.5-3-2-6 1T 2.6v

• 255MHz 2.5-3-2-6 1T 2.7v

• 275MHz 3.0-3-2-8 1T 2.7v

You are able to run this memory on 2.9V still having warranty, but can I get better timing when doing so and must i than cool my memory?

Are these Infineon CE-6 chips good with DFI?

I could also buy these:

OCZ 2x512MB PC4000 EL Gold Dual Channel Kit

tested results from http://www.insanetek.com/review.php?id=49

• 200FSB 2.0-3-3-6 2.8v

• 250FSB 2.5-4-4-7 2.8v

• 270FSB 2.5-4-4-7 2.8v

• 290FSB 3.0-4-4-8 3.0v

This on you could run on 3V maintaining warranty, but i thought I read somewhere that these where Hynix ships (who are no good?)

There are also some other possibilities:

OCZ 2x512Mb PC3200@222 EL Gold Dual Channel

partnumber OCZ4001024ELDCGE-K

OCZ 2x512MB PC3200 EL Performance Series Dual Channel Pack Kit

partnumber OCZ4001024ELDC-K

OCZ 2x512MB PC3200 Platinum EL Series Dual Channel Kit

partnumber OCZ4001024ELDCPE-K

I placed an order for the plats a week ago but the vendor bothced the order and canceled it. I went ang bought the Crucial Baliistix instead, made the decission from reading the articles from Insanetek. If you are going to go 2GB it is widely recommended that you do 2 sticks rather than 4 sticks of 512.

I think I won't go for the Platinum PC4000 series.

In stead I would like to buy these:

OCZ 2x1GB PC4000 EL Gold Dual Channel Kit

Why?

cheaper (30 euro's), available at my store (the Platinum version has pre-order status) and if I'm looking at benches the timings differences between these sticks don't have enormous inpact on performance.

Is there any reason not to buy the Golden sticks?
