Yes that memory is better for 1:1.

But You may not hit 300Mhz with it. (as overclocking results vary)

For that some PC4800 module may be better as they are guaranteed to run at 300Mhz.

But then you dont need to run the memory at 1:1, you can use a divider.

Its up to you but 1:1 is not that special anymore.

Will g.skill 2gbzx be on the recommended list? My set is on the way and at XS a few people including the US TECH for g.skill are having great results with it. I know it's value ram, they call is extreme anyway, but 2gbhs and 2gbhx are value as well.

I am curious, if I was to get pc4000, would I have a problem running with everything at stock speeds? I was reading and seeing that using pc4000 might slow performance, but eventually I plan on overclocking I think, but until then I would like to know if pc4000 would run as well as pc3200 at 200mhz fsb. Thanks!

ok, I havent gotten any word back, from my last post, so I have another question, would getting the GeIL ONE Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) TCCD chips Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail be the best possible 3200 ram I could buy? im thinking of buying this ram, and on newegg, is 195 at the moment, anyone know anywhere else to buy?

If I get this ram, will it pretty much be plug and play with my system, I havent hooked it up yet, waitin on psu and ram, by plug and play, will i be able to just install everything and it will in theory start right up? or am i going to have to play with the values of things....which I dont really know what they are yet..first "real" build from the ground up. Thanks

Hello,

GEIL one is the best 2x512MB memory kit on the market. :)

Yes it should work straight out of the box.

Only thing you might need to do is adjust the memory timings to 1.5-2-2-5. (this is normal).

If the PC4000 kit = a chip that can do 2-2-2-5@200Mhz then it will not be any slower.

E.g, a PC4000 kit with TCCD chips will be rated 2.5-3-3-7

a PC3200 kit with TCCD chips will be rated 2-2-2-5

The PC4000 2.5-3-3-7 kit can run at 2-2-2-5@200Mhz, so it is not any bit slower.

whovous, yes they may have some Hynix chips and that can be a real problem.
