Don't even think about not setting it up. Everything is at a default setting and it may not even be the setting that your system will work properly with. fps_shawn Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 KillCMOS is a small utility that clears the CMOS of any system, It will reset the bios password and any other settings will all be returned to bios default. Is that like Clearing the CMOS? so i could flash to 623-3 then do "KillCMOS" and it would be like Clearing the Jumper CMOS?
Guest Tmod Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Is that like Clearing the CMOS?so i could flash to 623-3 then do "KillCMOS" and it would be like Clearing the Jumper CMOS? Actually I am thinking of removing that feature as some that have used it said they had to use the jumper afterwards to get it to boot again. I have used it and just had to re-enter bios and set it up. So it works for me and some others it doesn't. So my final answer is just use the jumper. Guest Tmod Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 ok, but my Jumper is soo hard to get at.. right behind my 2 HD's and Sata cables.. Well here are your options, (1) Use KillCMOS and hope you don't have to reset the CMOS. (2) Just use the jumper even though it is a pain in the butt to get to. (3) Make a remote jumper switch to use to clear the CMOS. (I think THunDA has a post on making one) Tmod

I assume this red cap you are referring to is the jumper, Pull it off the pins it is on and then move the jumper over the the center pin and the pin that wasn't being used. I have no clue what a chip puller thingy is as I have never purchased that board or do I know the accessories that it comes with.
