Bosco Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Excuse my Language if I go off here a bit So we needed to do this upgrade, we were way overdue. Once we I made the decision that we needed to do this we find out that our old forum skin could not be converted. So D3 spent months trying to rebuild everything manually since there was no tool available. So upgrade goes in to play things seem to be going ok. A few little misses here and there but nothing major until the scripts come into play. The scripts needed to be run to fix HTML issues and converting other stuff. Whats the first thing that happens we loose the goddamn PM's So a long story short IPB is telling us something is wrong with the upgrade and they want is to start all over again. Here is the catch I have no idea yet if the posts that we have all done since Wed's upgrade until we start this all over again will be saved or not :down2: We are going to do everything in our power to save the forum stuff from Wed until monday morning when we start this all over again. The forums may be down longer then last time because I want this to be a 100% correct this time. This is complete bull crap and if I could change to something else I would. Anyways in the meantime this is going to really suck I need you all to keep the posting to a min. Basically what the means anything important if you can hold off until after the next upgrade that would be great. If its something minor no worries, I just don't want some threads to be lost that are important. But like I said I am going to do everything I can to save what we have got since the upgrade but only IPB will be able to tell us if that can be done. Part of the blame falls on me I should have done the upgrade a long time ago so my apologies for that. I will keep you guys posted on whats happening as we get rolling here. If you come to the forums on Monday and they are down you know whats happening. As for the rest of OCC it will still be online. I had accumulated a legion of them, and I just didn't feel for going through all of them... Also, I the new emoticons. It would have been great to get a smiley facepalm though. The theme looks great, but can you change the settings where if you click a link it uses your tab to go to the new website? I never ment for this to happen I just want things to get done and over with so we can get the forums running smoothly again. As for the windows opening in a new tab that was one of things we were going to do but we are not going to put in any more work until we redue the upgrade again but it will be done don't worry. Just a minor suggestion...create a redirect for forums.overclockersclub.com to point to a news post describing why the forums are down.
