:withstupid: why would you buy a cpu from xoxide in the first place. the only stuff i buy is moddin and cooling supplys. And guss what my 2500+ clocks to 1.83 ghz still kills yours with the add 512 of L2 its a monster. You should of spent the extra money for the 2500+ your gunna be hugely dissapointed.

Actually the extra L2 cache doesn't make a huge difference for most applications. If he can get that 1700 up to at least 2.2ghz it will definitely be worth while.

youd pay more at places like svc or excalibur or xoxide because they gaurentee that youll get the stepping code that you need, otherwise its just the luck of the draw as to which stepping code youll get. and the stepping code is really all that matters.

That's entirely true. Not only is it the luck of the draw at newegg, but it's almost impossible you will get one with that magical stepping.

jeez, I can go to one of the local shops (skytech) and pick up oem 1700's for $34 each. the other nice part is I can hand pick them because they just hand you the tray to pick the victim :) not to mention for $1 more you get 1 year replacement on an OEM cpu there
