leimrod Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Hi soundx98, I have MBM5 setup perfectly thanks to your advice. Going to design a samurize dashboard then i'll be done. I've left my PC running for a few days with MBM5 on in the background and it hasn't shut down once, so all seems well. Going to follow some of the calibration tutorials on the front page to adjust my temps closer to my hottest core readouts.
soundx98 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 SaFrOuT - I'll contact TheCoolest again and see if he has had any time to follow up on that request. Great hearing from you again bro. Quazi - try this link as well for _xhp_'s nVidia plug-in http://premium1.uploadit.org/soundx98//MBM...r_v7_22_ALL.rar leimrod - great to hear man. Sometimes it's so easy to set up it's hard to. Re-writing the install tutorial now. Hopefully I'll get some time to work on it over the next couple weeks..

soundx98 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 OK, pretty big Update here and some good news. No, make that Great News. FreeCableGuy over at the TTR (www.TheTechRepository.com) has found a way to incorporate Intel Core Temp readings into MBM5. w00t, w00t, w00t, humada, humada, humada Kudos to FCG for all his great work! And Alex Van Kaam, Author of MBM5, has released Update_3 for MBM5. Here is a link to the post in Free Cable Guy's weblog http://www.thetechrepository.com/showthread.php?t=74 Alex already has MBM5 working on his ASUS P5W DH. Those running Intel Chips can refer to my post here http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...&postcount=1757 I've also had a lot of reports lately that MBM5 is working on many new and old Abit boards by selecting "uGuru" under the configuration wizard. (Got some buds with MSI boards checking stuff out as well) Now before DFI NF4 owners get all excited they need to know this: Caveat #1 If you install "Update_3" from Alex you will "lose" the Vdimm, Chipset and Battery Voltage readings in the DFI NF4 Config file posted here. I believe if you re-install the DFI NF4 config file after the update everything will be back to normal (testing it, so bear with me). Caveat #2 Free Cable Guy's new Plug-in will allow Reading Intel Core Temps NOT AMD at this time. (Supports Yonah, Conroe/Allendale/Woodcrest/Merom, and Kentsfield/Clovertown.) Caveat #3 Free Cable Guy's new Plug-in can read up to 16 cores and will utilize Sensors #24 down to #9. So, if you were going to use _xhp_'s nVidia Plug-in for your graphic card you will have a problem. Now Free Cable Guy is already aware of the sensor # issue and is working on a revision for his program. I've sent PMs and e-mails to FCG, Alex Van Kaam, and _xhp_. These guys are light years ahead of me in "smarts" so maybe you'll see MBM5 even more "complete" in terms of readings and working on many boards in the near future. RAINMAKA Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Free Cable Guy's new Plug-in will allow Reading Intel Core Temps NOT AMD at this time I got excited but then I read that, hopefully it will soon work with AMD
soundx98 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Me, I AM excited. LOT of folks going to Intel these days. Got to remember that we couldn't even use MBM5 on the NF4s originally. Then it all started coming together, - Vdimm, Chipset, OSD, reading ATI cards and nVidia. All these guys do stuff for free, just trading data. And then you get it free, If your main concern is just getting CPU and Core Temps, VVJ's NextSensor will do it or spend $29.95 on Everest Ultimate. Links in 1st post of this thread. ahmadka Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Hi guys, well i looked around this thread on how to get GPU temps in MBM 5, to which I have found multiple results...the same thing is mentioned several times... The links just keeping linking to other pages: http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...&postcount=1422 http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...6&postcount=397 http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...8&postcount=359 http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...1&postcount=554 http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...4&postcount=556 So basically, I am getting too many different methods for implementing the same thing.... Can someone please point me to the most latest and efficient method for displaying GPU temp in MBM 5 ?? I am using an eVGA 7900GT CO, with AMD nF4 SLI-DR...although right now I dont have SLI configuration...
soundx98 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I PMed you about an hour ago. Have you checked your PM's recently? Post #1422 is what you need. http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...&postcount=1422 I am assuming you have MBM5 setup with the DFI Custom Data File. The file linked above will work on SLI or Non-SLI systems. Look at the last pic in that post and after you copy the you'll need to: a) unRAR the NV 7.22 file and copy the .ini file to the Data Folder B) copy the .dll to the Plug-in Folder c) Make sure the Dashboard is open all the way (use the arrows on the right side) d) you will need to set sensors 21 (mem clock Speed), 22 (core clock speed), and 25 (GPU temp) to "Custom", Then name them correctly, and make sure you tell them to display in dashboard and click on apply. Note: a second card in SLI would use sensors 23, 24, and 26. gimme a shout if you have issues. Carl

Carl Thanx dude, but the sensors still dont work...they wont budge from zero...I have done everything you have said, still doesnt work...tried all sensors from 21 to 26..nothing but zero... but in the page you linked to, right at the bottom it says that you have to 'start' the plug-in....how do I do that ? soundx98 Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 In the taskbar right click on the MBM5/Temperature Symbol and go to "plug-in". NV 7.22 will appear and "start" plug-in will be next to it. Make sure under MBM5 settings that the sensors are set to "custom" as in the screenshot in Post #1422
ahmadka Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 hmm....this is weird....I dont have a plugin option in the taskbar menu....i have all the other options, but not the plugin one....I have MBM version 5.3.7.0....
