Angry_Games Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 you mean AMD and IBM IBM is the company responsible for setting up AMD to compete with intel, building/designing their fab plants, and giving them 90nm design and ability to implement it (as well as the on-chip memory controller etc)

Angry_Games Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 if we were say...invaded by aliens with butt-kicking technology...or some other crazy world-ending event (asteroid gonna smash earth and we need a mega-supa-killa-badassmofo computer to calculate the exactitude of the magnitude of the deceleration vector of the charlie-niner trans-oscillating graviton reaction cluster?) then we might see Intel and AMD working together otherwise...its like asking North and South Korea to come up with a Friendship Dance lol. Atomic_Onion_Ma Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 I believe this new Strained Silcion process is what we're seeing on the 3400 Mobiles is it not? I think I read that somewhere.
M4d-K10wN Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 3400+ mobiles aren't implementations of SSOI, 4000+ and fx-55 are, though. I don't think there are any products with SSOI offered for s754 atm, but that may have changed in recent past.

Angry_Games Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 owie...to RMA a component that isnt defective ends up costing companies (and vendors) a serious dollar...and that leads to higher prices and stricter RMA policies. we had the issue with the NF2 boards where people would try to RMA them because they would only overclock to 240Mhz and no higher...it became a nightmare and made us adjust our RMA policy, and it even nearly forced some vendors to stop carrying our product because they though all of our NF2 boards were inherently defective. but at the RMA tables in teh back of the office, we found that only 1 our of about 45 boards were truly in need of an RMA...the other 44 were in perfect condition... beo Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Only way to check that I know of, is to use central brain identifier If u have a version 0.6 and the romours are true, its a SSOI central brain identifier
