Angry_Games Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Dear All, You might be receiving question about the support of AMD Cool ‘n’ Quiet Technology on LANPARTY UT NF3 250GB. Yes, this motherboard can support it under non-OC status. The driver had not been included in driver CD. We posted it on download site at URL http://www.dfi.com.tw/Upload/Driver/cpucooler.EXE for users. Since this is an OC oriented motherboard and there might be conflict in the concept of CPU Cooler and OC, we did not include the CPUCooler driver in CD. If user won’t play OC and prefer AMD Cool ‘n’ Quiet Technology, please suggest him or her downloading the driver from our website. Best, HH
alex1971 Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Installed with C&Q off in BIOS. > No Problem Energy Setting in Windows right... "minimum"... C&Q ON in Bios > Windows hangs while booting > C&Q OFF in Bios again > Windows starts without Problems... Energy Setting in Windows > maximum Power C&Q ON in BIOS > Windows starts without Problems... Energy Setting in Windows again to minimum > Windows frozen > Reboot > Harddisk corrupt !!! Had to install Windows again Hardware: Athlon64 3000+ CG Newcastle (AX) 2x512MB DDR400 2,5 CL MDT SingleSided Nothing overclocked.... all Settings "Auto" No Chance to Use the C&Q Function..... Angry_Games Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 DFI doesn't support SP2 at this time as it breaks a lot of programs including drivers/updates/utilities etc.

Angry_Games Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 search button is your friend =-) ive posted in the Intel and AMD section more than a few posts about how DFI isn't supporting SP2 at this time...I've just not had a chance to put it in teh Important Info sticky...and we already have so many stickies im iffy about adding yet another one =( the cG cpu's actually are working out much better than the c0 ones. Oskar confirmed this today.
Angry_Games Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 ps: we've finally fixed most of the breaks that SP2 causes on our Intel boards...working on the Nf3 and Nf2 now to allow everyone to use SP2 that wants it (but we are limited...we had a lot of help from Intel themselves on getting those fixes...fixed lol)

Angry_Games Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Any workaround for me ?? you and a zillion others that dont have an Intel system =) i dont have the NF3 built for lack of 2 small K8 adapters for my heatsink...but by Thursday or Friday it will be up and running...so I cant answer any of the bios questions about it yet. i can tell you there's no secret anything, if Oskar made a change then he will say the change in the readme or his descriptor post. alex1971 Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Thanks.... Yesterday i tested with a new WindowsXP Pro SP1. Cool'n Quiet DOES NOT RUN..... Windows Freeze I think i have to wait for a new Bios because C&Q does not like my Kombination of HARDWARE..... (Signature)
alex1971 Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 It would be nice, if everybody with 2 DIMMS on his Mainboard, tells his Experience with Cool&Quiet. Maybe we could help Oscar to optimize the Bios. On german Forums there are some users who can't run C&Q. They all have a CG-CPU-Revision... dreiu Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 I think that Cooll and Quiet should have been omitted from this motherboard. This motherboard is strictly for overclocking, thus defeating the whole purpose of CnQ. Period. If you are not using this board for OCing, then you are using the wrong board.
