I guess... The way I look at is if they produce both good and bad units you never know what you are going to get or when so why should I ever chance it. I also do not want to spend hours online trying to see which is which, I will just buy from a reputable manufacturer.

Reguardless you should always check and read reviews even if it is from a "reputable" brand or OEM, sometimes they crank out Bad power supplies.

Like the OCZ incidents..

road-runner thats just your personal preference but your certainly not giving Ultra the credit it deserves

and there x line of units are pretty good any can compete with todays "inn" power supplies (ie. corsair thermaltake, pc power and cooling ect.)

from jonny guru (i dont see why people think Ultra is bad look at the reviews)

We sorta discussed that before (or at least Unforgivin or someone mentioned it): Jonny Guru used to work for Ultra, that's when the PSUs became better, now he went to BFG so Ultra is going to the dogs again. Plain and simple! Obviously there'll be good PSU units from Ultra, but most will continue to suck!

people who have been at this for a long time are not going to try somebody new for no reason.

i am a PCP+C and Enermax guy myself.

i did get a Coolermaster 1000W PSU that came installed in my 830 Stacker.

it got a good review fron Johnny as well.

you can bet if it ever fails there will be a PCP+C 1000W taking its place.

brand loyalty is hard to shake when the quality is there.
