philbrown23 Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 You might want to check out the thermal paste roundup... http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=getarticl...amp;articID=635 The diamond stuff looks sweet, if it works, but if it's cheap enough it's wortha try! Kash Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Aren't diamonds insulators? Wouldn't that be a bad thing for conducting heat?
hardnrg Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Diamond is the best conductor of heat or electricity, I forget which, but it conducts (something) better than platinum, gold, copper, silver, etc... it's just cost-prohibitive
Puck Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Diamonds are electrical insulators but thermally conductive - very well at it too Like all new products though, I would not want to be the first to try it

soccertl Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 The price isn't that far out of line with the other good compounds. You get a tube about half the size of the others and pay about 2/3 the price. It might be worth trying when I build my comp next year.
