philbrown23 Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Does anyone know why exactly it is that your'e not supposed to use copper and aluminum in the same wc loop? Also does anyone know what might happen if you did?

nightsider Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 it kinda sucks since your copper waterblock would no longer be effective if left for to long you would just have a nice copper coated aluminium water block

sbrehm72255 Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Exactly......QFT............. Never had a problem with "Galvanic Corrosion" on any of my blocks over the years, not even the old original PolarFlo ones, they still look like new inside. I guess its just a matter of knowing what you're doing.
road-runner Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 A lot of people do not use those funky additives as some are not to good. Some people use just distilled water and a biocide...
p8baller07 Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I used to use Distilled water, Some Antifreeze mix, some dye, and alcohol...and some penguin blood.

iKillSteal Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Don't use Water Wetter.... can't remember why now, just don't Probably because of this. Apparently it coats the inside of tubing and pumps, slowly clogging them and killing performance.
road-runner Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I wish I would have took pictures the other day when I had my loop apart, I threw away the tubing and put new on it. It was stained and had a blueish coating on everything inside from the Pentosin. Yes I flushed the radiator and cleaned all the blocks before installation the first time also. Edit: This is not mine but it looked like this.
