Best audio and vidio decoders.

Hey guys.

 

im looking for some good softwear dvd players! ive used wmp 11 ,powerDVD and nero dvd player. wmp 11 seems to use the nero dvd decoder to play my dvd's i was wondering what you would recommend to play DVD's with? and what would you use to get the best out of your soundcard playing DVD's in 5.1.

Download the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. Don't forget the "Mega" as that includes Media Player Classic, Real Alternative, and Quicktime Alternative.

Thats what i use for everything, i use Winamp for music and Media Player Classic for all video.

That's exactly what I do. Nothing can beat that combination. I have yet to find a file/format that I can't immediately play.

what about itunes purchased movies?

i use foobar for music and mplayer for video on windows

 

 

then i use

 

 

xmms and mplayer for linux

 

vlc on both for dvd

Well, just the fact that you're asking probably means "no." But I've never downloaded any movies from iTunes, so I dunno.

I followed a guide on a site that I was about to post here until I noticed that I would have to edit to much of the guide to make it followable. Anyways, I can watch HD x264 encoded movies on my Athlon XP 2800+ using the right codecs and Media Player Classic.

 

VLC chokes up to often for it to be viewable when I tried to use it.
