Anyone seen the previews for this movie?

300

It tells the story of the 300 Spartan warriors led by their bad arse King Leonidas (Gerard Butler), as they stand up against the tens of thousands of Persians awaiting to conquer and absorb Sparta into the empire.
It's from the creators of SinCity.

I saw the preview for it earlier today and I thought it looked AMAZING, the style of the movie looks phenomenal, I saw a 30 second preview for it and it left my jaw on the floor wanting so much more...

It looks very contrasted, it has a HEAVY comic book feel, not hand drawn like "A scanner darkly", but the colors are contrasted quite nicely...

Anyone seen the preview?

Dude, I've been waiting for this movie ever since the preview was first launched months ago!!!

I absolutely loved Sin City and love Frank Miller's art style. This movie looks so bad-arse it's gonna be great :D

Looks awesome! Hopefully they'll try to keep some more historical accuracy.
It's based off of a Frank Miller novel, so that tells you it "strays" a bit right there...

300 (novel)

Do not, however, read 300 expecting a strictly accurate history. The Phocians did not "scatter," as Miller describes. His Spartans are mildly homophobic, which is goofy in such a g4y society. Miller doesn't say how many Greeks remained for the climactic battle--you'd think 300 Spartans and maybe a dozen others, when there were between 700 and 1,100 Greeks. Herodotus's Histories does not identify the traitor Ephialtes as ugly and hunchbacked, or even as Spartan. 300 establishes a believable connection between Ephialtes's affliction and behavior, but his monstrous appearance, King Xerxes's effeminacy, and the Persians' inexplicable pierced-GenX-African looks make for an eyebrow-raising choice of villain imagery. Nonetheless, 300 is a brilliant dramatization.
I would assume the movie strays even farther. Edited by Andrewr05

I liked Sin City.

But I do have to say. Depending on how this movie is acted and written, from what i've seen in the previews, this movie will either be really great, or really bad. No in between, one or the other. I'm hoping for the former myself! :)
