There was more action and "balls of glory" with Picard versus the suspense and mystery that was the majority of Kirk's role (William Shatner). I loved it though when both Captains were brought together in Star Trek Generations. Enterprise looked promising, but I think it was shelved wasn't it? It was shelved due to lack of audience. Seasons 1 and 2 weren't all that good before they started introducing Season 3 with the Xindi confrontations. Season 4 was a dud as well.
