FollowerCTO Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 I'd say copper plate... if it is paint, I never thought paint could look so smooth and shiney

DarkScorpion Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 But the copper would tarnish pretty fast and will look really nasty (unless you seal it w/ something - I dont know what you would use though)
Byron Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 I know its possible to prevent the tarnish that would occur on the copper, but I dont remember by what means. Anways, all i have to say about it is .....wow....wOw....WoW..... beautiful! any more pics?

r_target Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 That is quite a looker. I guess there's a way to seal the copper so that it doesn't look like the Statue of Liberty in six months time (?).

IUMaestro Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Copper would provide less heat dissipation than aluminum. Copper provides better transfer from solid-solid, but aluminum provides better transfer solid-air. that's why many many heatsinks use a copper base with aluminum fins. that and that case would be heavy! i definitely think bare aluminum would dissipate better.
