My Future Sound System For My Future Car

well right now i am driving a Plymouth Colt, but i will be buying a 1992 BMW 525i

i will want a good sytem and here's the list

 

PS: i know, i know, its Best Buy but i am too lazy to go around and find a specialty store

i checked out all these components and they look good but i just wanted to see what you guys thought of them.

 

Bassworx 10" Subwoofer Box

 

Sony 10" Subs

 

Sony 2-Channel Amp

 

i am also looking for a deck that will allow me to control the sub volume but i have not found one for the right price. my range is upto $200 CDN

EDIT: this is my first sound system

and i have a few questions

when i put the box in my trunk do i have to secure it to the ground?

and are there any sites that will explain how to wire up the system?

well, you wont get much with 200US dollars let alone CAN $...

 

im going to be blunt about what i say and hopefully you dont take this the wrong way lol...

 

Those Subs, and that amp flat out SUCK....i dont mean they arent that good, i mean they flat out SUCK... PLEASE stay away from sony car audio, it is no better than pyle, pyramid, jensen, etc...

 

i had a "700"wt sony explod hooked up to a 600wt amp that ahd the gains halfway up.... i also had 3 JL audios (W6's 250wts a peice) and the sony blew in 2 days, while the 250wt jl's pounded for over 1 year, i then sold them.

 

I recommend the Dual's that best buy has as they are decent for the price.

this is a DUAL 2ch amp 460wts for 119.00 USD, This isnt the most powerful amp but atleast it isnt junk....i hooked this same setup in my friends car and it hits pretty decently.

 

i have a Rockford fosgate Punch 125.2 (around 600wts) hooked up to 1 12in diamond audio sub and it hits harder but then again, i paid $200 usd just for the sub with no box. LOL

 

But im begging you not to get the sony because sony car audio is JUNK.

well i cant get them cause they are no offered at the canadian Best Buy

i gonna go out to a store who specialize in car audio and check what they have

i want to pick up some JBL speakers but dont know how much they will cost

 

for around $500US how would be the best set?

i would only need a box, 2 subs, and an amp

Dont ever get sont car audio, worst stuff you can get, well almost as bad as the stuff on ebay(Pyle, american legacy) Whatever you do dont go cheap on the amps, you will regret it.

well.. actually my friend has sony xplodes.. he has 3 12's on a thousand W amp.. and the car shakes.. he has had this setup for over a year.. and it works great.. i dont know much about speekers though

now dont get me wrong, sony makes some excellent products (PS2, PSP, portable CD players, mp3 players, etc.) but they suck when it comes to car audio.

i will definately consider that combo

i will go out and see if i can get those components locally cause the shipping is almost $100US - kinda pricy for me but i guess thats what you pay for quality parts

 

any other suggestions are also welcome

if those pioneer are anywhere near as good as my premier dvcs you'll love them but if you cant afford to get 2 good subs and a good amp you can always start with one sub and add another, just dont blow it first. with car audio you get what you pay for

ok i searched around CarDomain and found some subs that are in my range

here are my options

 

Pioneer TS-W306C - Recommanded by sYstEmATiC

 

Infinity Reference 1232w

 

Audiobahn AW1251T - these are kinda pricy

 

right now i am leaning towards the Infinity

they have good SQ and they hit hard

i will probably not buy the Audiobahn cause they dont have the SQ i want and there are no see-through boxes, so i cant see the chrom flames

Go with audiobahn... only good stuff, my friend has 2 12s and a decent amp and you can hear him coming from a long way away... sitting in it is awesome. Seriously consider audiobahn.
