wildman2 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) What are ppl using now to monitor ppd etc. I used something different when active before just can't remember the name of it.Also used to have a white box with stats in sig area cant remember how to do that also. The fah control panel has me at approximately 44 grand a day give or take is this about right for a 6970 flex and an 3820?Hopefully I can convince my son to do some folding for me when he puts his new rig together.(ryzen/1080 rig). wildman2 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Yup already got one .. Hopefully I'll have a newish video card here pretty soon that should boost the production quite a bit.Now if I could find a nice 12 core xeon dirt cheap to slap on the MB that would boost it also. Shocked the MB can support an e-5 2697 v2 xeon cpu with a bios change.I cant afford one pricey as all get out.
ir_cow Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 E5-2670s are only $50-100 on ebay cheap 8Core that benchmarks the same as a i7 3930k in multi-thread.
road-runner Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 I think I was getting 150k ppd out of my 6900k at stock clocks.
wildman2 Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Some of those 2670's look real tempting. There are a lot of engineering samples of them on ebay didn't think that those could be sold. Are they generally ok to use. 150k ppd from the 6900k is more than my video card and cpu combined are doing per day. road-runner Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I looked and I was getting anywhere from 100k to 165k with the 6900k thats a 8/16 core cpu. If you get a cpu be sure it has the AVX instruction set as the new a7 core uses it..
wildman2 Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 My 3820 already has avx capability.so fah will automagicly set it for avx if new cpu uses it correct.
