Locutus Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) Why would someone choose this when the 7950 seems to outshine it in most games and is generally a lower price? ETA: Not to mention the large used market for them, considering the number of people selling their cards to upgrade to the 280x and 290x? XtremeDS Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Because the 7950 isn't cheaper or at the same price of a 270x everywhere. Where I live, the price of a 7950 is between the 270x and the 280x. Actually, the 7970 can even be more expensive than the 280x.
IVIYTH0S Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 It's ok, if it's a 7870 replacement it does beat it every time whiling being cooler and more efficient.
Black64 Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 This is more expensive ($50) then a 7950 but gets only 1-5% better frames??
ccokeman Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 This is more expensive ($50) then a 7950 but gets only 1-5% better frames?? If you find a whale of a rebate you might get to $50 cheaper on the HD 7950 but the 7 series cards are on the way out and those bargains will soon be gone. Its an odd positioning on the price point but when you look at GHz edition 7870 cards they are selling at upwards of some 7950 pricing. d6bmg Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 This card seems to be worthy of its price tag, at least to me. I think the small increase in performance is worth it! And, good review as always!
