bishop245 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 my mom is 58 is in stage 4 to 5 dementia and now has a broken hip thanks to a fall this morning. we put her in a nursing home back on 9/25/12 my 39th birthday and now this. the bone doctor says he can fix it without hip replacement surgery and just put a rod in there. if I aint around much for a bit now all know why

bishop245 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 The operation takes place at 8am CST in the morning and should only be in the hospital for a few weeks after the surgery for physical therapy then back to the lock down unit at the nursing home and probably back to her doing laps in the hallway and punching the wrong codes in the door ways thinking she is dialing a phone
bishop245 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 The operation took all of 20 minutes and the anesthisa lasted for about 4 or so hours. She did eat a few spoonfuls of soup the passed out again. Just as I was leaving to head back to Oklahoma City, she looked at me and said "can I go with you". That is her normal question when I leave the nursing home when i visit her.
