Stealth3si Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I have a 7 year old AS5 compound lying around and the Cooler Master Thermal paste that came with the EVO. Are any below go really well with EVO HSF and 960T? IVIYTH0S Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Cm grease! I hate AS5's cure time lol (either would probably net nearly identical temps)
dr_bowtie Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 honestly i've been using that white generic goop and its been working as good or better than some of the others.... I have Thermalright stuff.... big tube of it

Waco Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I just use whatever is closest when I put my machine together. I've never noticed any appreciable difference between the different pastes. Up until recently I was using a nearly 10-year old tube of stuff I got from GeIL with a set of memory I bought.
Stealth3si Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) How about a paste that's great for overclocking? Something that would give me headroom for medium to heavy overclocking in the future. EDIT: I also found some old paste stored away. It's called the Arctic Silver Ceramique and Zalman Thermal Grease CSL 850. UPDATE: I have my eye on the Prolimatech PRO-PK1 now. Seems to be the best and costs the least, albiet with 1g. Would this work on the EVO heatsink (CDC technology) and 960T CPU? They'll work just fine, as long as it's not dry stock Intel cooler pad "compound" you're in business
Stonerboy779 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 You are not going to see the numbers you want. The cm grease applied correctly will be more than adequate. If you want something super good then there are two products with names I forget that require a burn till flow to work they are comparatively very expensive and you do need to literally burn them in. Stealth3si Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 What is the 'best' paste possible for potentially good overclocking? Something that would give me headroom for medium to heavy overclocking in the future. Without burning it in or costing an arm and a leg.
