i have a question for you guys that have "colored" their boards.... is there anything that you should NOT color/write on? Like if I wanted to use a gel pen...is there anything i shouldn't touch, or does it not matter since it's just ink?

A cathode light is not neccesarily always UV. Cold cathode is just a term for a neon type light that produces less heat. There are several colors of cold cathode available, UV is one of the available "colors" if you could call it that. It is just like a black light, glows sort of purple and makes anything that is UV reactive, or in some cases brightly colored, glow.
