Computer update

Recommended Posts

This is my actual computer:

computador.png

I want to make a update, change the processor, motherboard, memories and processor cooler.

First i was looking for a Intel 2600k, Asus P8P67 M Pro, Crossair 8Gb 1600mhz and a crossair H70

But looking at this review: 2500k vs 2600k

I don't really know what is my best option.

The computer is for game, movies and internet. Because i allways player games in ultra high definitions and resolution, maybe is better a 2500k.

What you think, or what should I buy spending arround 400/500€

i5 2500k, CM 212 Evo, 8GB DDR3 1600MHz, a mobo to suit and a second 5870.

Unless you will use hyperthreading get a 2500k don't need a h70 the SB chips a very cool and the 212 EVO is the perfect budget cooler that can still pull of a 4.5GHz+ OC on a 2500k with ease.

With money saved by not getting a 2600k and a h70 get another 5870 the extra GPU performance is nice provided your PSU can take it.

What PSU do you have?

Would you be interested in Crossfire?

Can you post a few links to where it is you are able to buy from?

Yeah go with the 2500K instead. Extra money could go to better board or better graphics (although a 5870 should suffice for almost all games). Can't argue about the 212+/Evo since it's the best budget cooler I've known to date.

I'd go with these:

http://www.globaldata.pt/index.aspx?p=ProdDetailRef&ProdRef=ASRZ68E4G3 - ASRock Z68 Extreme4 182,60 €

http://www.globaldata.pt/index.aspx?p=ProdDetailRef&ProdRef=BX80623I52500K - i5 2500K 206,10 €

http://www.globaldata.pt/index.aspx?p=ProdDetailRef&ProdRef=CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 - Corsair Vengeance 8GB 47,30 €

http://www.globaldata.pt/index.aspx?p=ProdDetailRef&ProdRef=RR-212E-16PK-R - CM Hyper 212 Evo 32,60 €

Total: 468.60 € :)

before there is nothing like a Asus or Gigabyte

http://www.globaldata.pt/index.aspx?p=ProdDetailRef&ProdRef=90-MIBGS0-G0EAY0KZ As long as your case doesn't have a window, this would be a great choice, or http://www.globaldata.pt/index.aspx?p=ProdDetailRef&ProdRef=GA-Z68XP-UD3P which is from Gigabyte which is just shy of asus in quality IMO, but it does have a nice black clean PCB which could be good if you have a case with a window.

In your specific situation, I would go with Asus over Asrock. You will be saving some money and you will have a better built board.
