2012: Post your ride!

I'd take a Nova over the Duster personally. I like the 68-72 years but 66-67s are sick.

Also I'd be wary of people claiming they have 69K or 48K original miles. The odometers only went up to 99,999 back then usually. My '79 F150 shows it has 3700 miles lol.

I'd take the Nova over the Duster any day as well, especially a Nova SS. There's a reason people drag Novas and not Dusters.

Yep, I'm well aware of that. My friend has an 82 F-150 with about 250k miles, odometer only shows 50k. I'm sure I could tell the difference between a 50k mile car and a 150k mile car by looking at it though. I'll check it out sometime this week if I have time, get under it (or at least try, damn back) and see how it looks.

Because Novas are a dime a dozen. Anything Mopar will usually be worth and cost more than a Chevy.

Cheap is just what I need these days. That's why I'm considering a 3rd gen Camaro. 350 with a 5 speed, nothing but fun.

Also, this is interesting. I'd never buy a pre-blown car, but still, pretty damn cool.

Thanks for the links. The German is no problem, I am German, just live in the UK.

Ill give them a shout! From the links I have been reading it always mentioned that you need to replace the manifold too. The tuners people where linking to would do the ECU for you, but you had to get the mainfold. (Which BMW wont sell you easily.)

I considered a 1 before going with the 3. Which engine have you got in it?

EDIT: Just thought... my car has a BMW warranty on it for another year. Probably not a good idea to look into tunning till that's expired :P

The guys I know that did it haven't replaced any manifolds... yes it 3-stage on the full 330i, but it works without swapping that as well. I drive a 118d 5-door hatch, manual transmission, 2007 model. I bought it used in September 2009 with 34.500km on the clock, it now has 113.200km on it... go figure why I got the sensible Diesel ;) Some pics here:

2013 Freightliner Cascadia:

...was delivered to me with 8 miles on the odometer...

That looks epic! You buy that privately?

Awesome thats great to know. Like I say its under warranty at the minute, so going to leave it as is till next year when it expires.

I looked at 320d's but was scared off by the N47 timing chain failures. They where also good bit more expensive with more miles and less spec.

No brainer that you went Diesel... even though I am surprised more Germans don't go derv, given that it costs less than Petrol per litre. Over here Diesel is more than petrol but people cant get enough of diesel cars.

Literally ever F30 3er I have seen is a 320d. Seen only 1 petrol, which was a 335i!

The timing chain failure is a hyped problem, complete rubbish in my opinion. The petrol 4-pott engines had serious problems with the timing chains, but only the first ones... I've read of a total of four timing chain failures on a N47 diesel (3x 120d and 1x 118d) and a lot of people who imagine hearing weird sounds in the engine bay and have replaced chains, crank shafts and I don't know what for thousands of Euros. Do you know how often the N47 has been sold and how few people have this problem? As I said, I think its completely overhyped!

The Diesel engine has two advantages in my opinion, the first is torque, the second is economy. The torque is great, I can cruise around the city doing ~60km/h in 5th gear no worries, still accelerates properly when I step on it. The economy has two factors, one is that it simply consumes little fuel and the other is the long distance between fuel stops. If I cruise around the highway at ~150km/h (90-95MPH), the car gets 49.5 Imperial-MPG / 41.5 US-MPG. If I really open the taps and cruise along the Autobahn at full tilt, it still gets 30 Imperial / 25 US MPG.

Having said all that, I do eye the 125i's sometimes... the looks of a Coupé and the sound of a Straight-6 is just something else... but then I look at my bank account and decide no

oh no xpetezx, i'm pride company driver,...this is assigned my rig that i alone drive. truthfully i leased my own tractor with another company a while ago, and found out thru my own experience, that unless the operator has very exceptional support and constant loads and mileage then the money is not there. i now prefer to drive somebody else's equipment that way they have all the expenses, and i earn mileage, some good bonuses, per diem and some travel expenses. My company and the man i work for are very fair and driver oriented....but she's a dream to drive i tell ya !!
