medbor Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 (edited) You guys really confuse me , Is this ups capable to handle my pc at 900-1000watt load or not? Should I connected again with my pc? Or it will burn this psu also? Including this "peak load" which I don't understand They argue about how to measure AC voltage. not important. Even if your UPS can handle 1500W (which i dont believe) you will get 10-20% more power consumtion just by having the ups, since it is not 100% efficient. Your ups looks very small, and just by that (no official specifications anywhere) i can not see how it can support such a high load for any lenght of time, it will definitely get very hot at least. Edit: +1 for Waco! But as he said "if its rated correctly", I don't think it is since no real UPS making company would leave its consumers without proper information, whay does your UPS manual say? Then you have to flip back the "switch". That switch is called a breaker, since it breaks the power. Edit: Do you have a manual for the UPS? Try and find out what the maximum load (in watts rms) it can take before its overload protection shuts it off.
Waco Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 If you have their number call them up and ask them what it is rated for. Try and find out what the maximum load (in watts rms) it can take before its overload protection shuts it off. He doesn't need to ask about watts RMS - any ratings for AC power are in RMS. Household power != speakers.
medbor Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 (edited) if that is accurate it's powerfactor is 0.6 which is really low (powerfactor = W / VA = 1200 / 2000 = 0.6). That in it self questions the build quality. try to run a 60W light bulb from it (when it is fully charged of course), and see how long it runs. 1200W is only the power it can supply, not for how long...
