VaporX Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 In my recent quest for a new keyboard I have found that I would love a nice mechanical keyboard for the durability and responsive feel. However I have gotten used to using a backlit keyboard and am a bit concerned that I would miss it. Back lighting on mechanical keyboards jack the rice quite a bit. This got me thinking and wondering how others thought when it came to backlit keyboards.
hierovision Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I don't like the clack of mechanical keyboards, and I love backlit keyboards. I've been using a saitek eclipse for years... the ESDF keys are completely see-through now, no recognizable letters
Nyt Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I love my Logitech G19 . Nice red backlight I came from a normal keyboard (not even mechanical) and it was awesome
dario_92 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I Love my Backlit Saitek Ecplipse keyboard, i can change it between red and blue. Even better when gaming in the dark
Speedway Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Love my G15, G11, and Eclipse II
imm0rt41 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I have a G15 now and I love it. The only keyboard I would switch for is maybe a SteelSeries since they are backlit and some are made of aluminum. I love the feeling of cold metal
VaporX Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Interesting to see that only the people that like backlit are commenting so far...hhmmm... BTW I also notice the quick comments about the Saitek. The Eclipse II is STILL one of my favorite keyboards, to bad they do not make it any more. Can still find them on Amazon but that will get harder over time. wevsspot Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I'm currently using a Saitek Eclipse II (this is my second Eclipse keyboard). Not a bad keyboard for the price. But here is the one I'm going to get once I can convince myself it's worth the money; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823330009
airman Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Another Eclipse II user here. Great keyboard!
Deathmineral Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Eclipse I here, keeping it old school. I love my Eclipse, it's my second backlit keyboard, my first was from Logisys and it was absolutely terrible for the most part. I've thought about getting a mechanical keyboard recently but I've put the idea away because of what you said about backlighting driving the prices up insanely and because I don't think I couldn't stand the noise from the keys. Not sure on the second reason though, I've heard there some pretty quiet mechanical keyboards but I really don't have anyway to find out for myself without opening up my wallet. Kamikaze_Badger Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I've been using a Saitek Executive for years. The lighting isn't all the best anymore, but it still works just fine. I love it.
