Andrewr05 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I'd say go for it. I can nearly max out 4GB while doing some photo editing, listening to some music and having a few tabs in firefox open. I recently upgraded to 8GB just because I found a similar deal to you and now I don't have to worry about any memory issues. If its a cheap uggrade like that I can't really see a reason not to. IVIYTH0S Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 It certainly can't hurt boot time, and am I to understand that you're running a single stick of 4GB as it is?? or two 2GB sticks?

Guest_Jim_* Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 i noticed that there was a 4GB PQI stick also 1333mhz for $40 does it make a difference if i got for that or the patriot are there real world benefits of "dual channel memory" Yes, there are benefits to dual channel memory. When I first build my computer I had them in the wrong slots (there are slots A1, A2, B1, B2 and I did A1 and A2 when it should be A1 and B1 or vice versa) and when I put it right I did see an improvement.
