Hi guys,

I've decided to get a 5870 for tri-fire with my 5970 while the prices are low but I cant decide on which brand . There are three brands that come to my mind.

1. This Sapphire HD5870 Vapor-X

or

2. This MSI HD5870 Lightning Edition

or

3. This ASUS EAH5870 V2

Each has its pro's. All of them run cooler . All of them are nearly the same price . All of them overclock well.

Which one should I get ?

ASUS video cards seem to overclock better, as far as the GTX 460's go.

MSI's are definitely above average, but not built as good as ASUS. Though I do like their customer service.

I've yet to own a Sapphire product, so won't comment on that.

Theres just another thing that popped up , will my 850 watt psu supply it ? I hope to oc both cards to at least 5870 speeds and maybe up to 925mhz core and 1250 memory.

That's putting it close, or over. Overclocked on load, your HD 5970 will consume at the most around 740w, and your overclocked HD 5870 in crossfire, an additional 400w at the least, especially at your highest settings in games.

I thought the MSI Hawk series were the best clockers around??

If you're going by reviews that overclock the MSI Hawk, but if you're going by people who own it and post it on the forums, then SpeedwayNative can attest to that.

I think someone's just mad because they got the cyclones not the hawks

I'd rather have a 1090T and overclock like a woman to 4.0GHz than get a 1055T and overclock like a man to 3.8GHz. :P

:bah: 3.8ghz would be childs play on the 1055T!! I got a $60 x4 620 to 3.4ghz on a $55 motherboard
