well Bosco i am just building a gaming rig and want something powerful that will run anything thrown at it for awhile.

What resolution are you running?

i ask because it would be pointless to get a few 5870's if you cant even use the full power of them

5850/280/285 are waste if you have smaller than 20 inch

as for 5870 i think it is a waste if you play under 1920*1080

it gives amazing performance at 2560*1600

because if you play 1650*1050 5850 is good for that also 280 / 285

note : gtx 200 were included just for example ......:)

i have a 26" acer wide screen monitor using a resolution of 1920 x 1200. and planning on adding another one.

5870.... :thumbs-up:

but if you changed your mind about the other display then 5850

so if i go with the 5870 would it make sense to do cross fire or not.

get the card , play with it , play crysis /warhead

and max the settings out even the AA and tell us the results , if you are happy with it , then i think there is no need for cf for now

if not then get another but i really think that you will be happy with it

if you want to run cf 5850 will make sense that is what i think

any way get one card and decide another one or not

even if you want to get that second monitor cf will not be needed thanks to ATI eyefinity

well i am coming from nvidia cards i will go with the ati and see what happens. also what is the scope on the physx for ati cards.

just buy a cheap nvidia car with a good shader count, and run that as your PPU. (windows 7 only)
