KK_ Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 who knows what w7 is capable of , i mean if other companys have not made drives to work with W7 , your not going to be doing much , but i think W7(beta) is fine to run , but you may encounter errors if its 64bit W7 ... personaly i would stick with Vista ult sp1 , until W7 is fully released .... hopefuly windows dont make it like the flop Vista Home was
Blackninja543 Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 I went from xp to win 7 and havent looked back. It run fine with almost every game i play. Almost every game on steam runs without a problem. Newer and older games all run better than they did in xp. As for programming, i havent noticed any problems..... yet.
cjloki Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Yeah, I think at this point Vista is not a worthwhile investment +1 w7 64 bit is better

taowulf Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 So far I have one program that won't run on W7 64 bit. it is CoreTemp. Gaming is fine on everything I have installed so far.
Timmy94 Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 The only problem I've had on W7 would be nhancer. And switching to W7 actually made L4D, Cod5 & Oblivion work properly on my PC, which is a plus.

Krieg1337 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 So even old games like starcraft(Yes I still play it ) and ArmA will work? Im just not sure if Win7 can support all the patches for games.(I dont know if makers of game patches make patches that work for Win7, that is my concern)

Fight Game Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I'd get the free win7 and save the $100, and find out if its a concern later....which I doubt it will be.
