xPETEZx Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 The reason the CPU is colder than the coolant is because of the TEC. A TEC uses an electric current to create a hot plate, and a cold plate. The cold plate is placed on the CPU, and the Hot plate goes to the Water Block. This causes the CPU to hit a lower temp than the water, as the water is being heated by the TEC. While no where near Extreme cooling it is below ambient so you will have problems, get some kneadable eraser is what I used and most folks are using now days, XS is down or I would link you to the thread of how to insulate it...
