gpu=SLI nvidia geforce 8800 ultra

psu=antec true power 1kw

ram=corsair xms2 ddr2 800mhz 2x2gigs

maybe I don't know how the TEC works, but shouldn't the cpu not be able to get colder than the coolant that's used to cool it?

true, i understand basically how TEC works, but dont understand why the cpu is colder then the coolant.

but its still awesome

The reason the CPU is colder than the coolant is because of the TEC.

A TEC uses an electric current to create a hot plate, and a cold plate. The cold plate is placed on the CPU, and the Hot plate goes to the Water Block.

This causes the CPU to hit a lower temp than the water, as the water is being heated by the TEC.

you have your mobo insulated and dielectric in the socket right? I've had friends not insulate , and regret it later on when they realize condensation fried there mobo + gpus.

:withstupid: While no where near Extreme cooling it is below ambient so you will have problems, get some kneadable eraser is what I used and most folks are using now days, XS is down or I would link you to the thread of how to insulate it...
