r3d c0m3t Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) Aside from a few (about three) remakes I don't turn my head in disgust at, this "let's reboot a series, or remake an older movie imploring newer ideas" is dreadful. What happened to the days of film-making when everything was incredibly cheap and low-budgeted? So low-budget that you'd be able to see someone who doesn't look anything like Arnold Schwarzenegger attempting to escape certain things in a certain place (Ahem: Terminator 2) that made the movie great because it didn't rely on useless special effects and super-unnecessarily dramatic explosions and whatnot. Robocop comes to mind, which is also being remade, but is being remade to the effect where it has absolutely nothing with the original movie, and let's not forget about Scream, another movie that's being remade. I barely watch TV now because of this reality TV crap, after a while I'll stop watching movies as well because of this "Hollywood no longer has any active creativity or originality" era.
