WReXSTi Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) I don't know which section this is suppose to go in so I put it in the overclocking forum. What is the best SLi motherboard to overclock on? Edited February 22, 2009 by WReXSTi

Zertz Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Most P45 will do a great job. Asus, Gigabyte, MSI or even Biostar. They all make overclocking friendly boards If you want to spend more than you can pickup a X48 board

I don't like any of the SLI boards for 775. I'd just get a single card with dual GPUs and stick it on a P45 board and call it a day, but I bet you won't do that. If you have to have SLI on 775, I guess a 790i would be the best one, but even those are quirky and plus you have to get DDR3 which is a complete waste of money on a low-FSB chip like a Q6600. mattwalter85 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 yea i agree with verran completely. single gpu is def. the way to go unless u wanna drop the cash for an i7 setup.....
tkrow21 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 If you reallyreallyreally want SLI get a 780i, I guess.
WReXSTi Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I'll probably get a P45 with a q6600 and a gtx 260 and I won't need to sli because the video card is enough for a 1440x900 monitor.

I think that's a very good idea. A good 260 with a mid-range P45 and a set of DDR2-800 with tight timings would be perfect for that resolution and that Q6600. +1, you were right all along Zertz. Indeed! It's not an SLI board but it turns out it's still the right answer
