It is just common practice to not use bitmaps as their filesize to pixel size is outrageous.

Plus the forum can not create a thumbnail preview of ".bmp" files.

Bitmaps aren't compressed so they generally end up being quite a few times larger than compressed JPEGs or PNGs.

ok , i understand but can not convert it to any other format the quality is not as it was before...........:(

I don't really think you can see a difference between BMP and JPG. I know it's there but you really have to pick apart the picture to notice it to a degree that it may cause the picture to look diminished, and the file size of JPG compared to BMP is well worth it.
