Unlocking The Bios Settings For The Asus P5q

Urgent help!!!

 

How do i unlock the BIOS settings on the Asus P5Q??

 

I heard that there is an update to unlock it, but i can't find it anywhere.

 

Please quick replies it's pretty urget.

When i say it's locked, i mean that i can go throughh certain settings but i can't change the multiplier, FSB etc.

Is your system a prebuilt one? as in "made by Dell/Hp/Gateway/etc?" if so, the BIOS is locked from the manufacturer and there is pretty much no way to unlock it. well, I've never found a way and nobody i know can do it.

nup it's custom and it's a friends of mine motherboard, my p5q-deluxe worked fine but his doesnt and the update didn't work so im not sure.

dude just highlight the line for the multiplier and type in the number ya wanna use .....i.e.....9.0...and oh yea, then hit "enter"

There's something you have to change from Auto to Manual in the overclocking tab, else every other option will be locked

If you disable Intel Speedstep it will allow you to change your Multiplier and FSB. At least my Biostar board did.

Yup on the same page there should be a line called something like "Clock control". Put it on manual.
