I have used dozens of XP-90's, a great HS! ;)

The Ultra 90 should be fine also, however I have never used one.

Please use the SVC link in my sig or any admin/mod sig, this way DFI-Street gets the credit.

Thanks,

Dave :)

i have the ultra-120 and it rocks! i have my x2 4400+ runnin at 2.5 ghz idle at 29C and load at 40C. i have a yate loon on it keepin it cool. i almost got teh ultra-90, but i found a one time deal to get the 120 for only a few dollars more. any thermalright hs will work though. it is one of the most used hs here. also, check out the TT big typhoon and the scythe ninja/infiniti. all good coolers.

I'm still trying to find a TR SI-128 somewhere that has them in stock. Best reviews I've seen for a Socket 939 HS, even if it is huge. If you like quiet, then the 120s are the way to go, even though I'm using a Swiftech MCX6400-V mounted to a modified metal backplate and using a 92mm SmartFan.

I know doxens of people using the XP-90 and the XP-90C (copper) and they all swear by them.

@ Bleacherman1,

I have one for my FX-60, and it's made by Foxconn (model 2ZR71-086). It's the stock AMD HS/F w/ heatpipes that came with my retail box processor and actually does an excellent job of cooling! It is pretty big, but has a copper base and multiple thin aluminum blades soldered to the base in a tight configuration. The fan seems to be snapped into place, rather than screwed on, with a plastic shroud that surrounds the top of the fins. It ran at high RMP but wasn't really too loud at full load. Kept my CPU @ the same temps as the Swiftech I'm using now, just didn't look like it was an easy thing to replace the fan with the blue LED fans I like using.

You're welcome. They do a great job, especially considering how poor the older AMD stock HS/Fs were. BTW, there's a post on this forum somewhere I recall seeing, that someone was looking for a stock AMD FX-60 HS/F. If I can find it again, I'll let you know who it was.

I think it was this thread here, for the person looking for a stock AMD heatpipe HS. They claim they already found one, if it's the same person [dooxOO].

BTW, nice find for stock AMD heatpipe HS/Fs at that price! Thye'll definitely come in handy, for yourself or for someone else in need. Sweet deal!

Anyone tried the Asetek's? I hate to drop 50.00 on them not knowing the turn out... I have a XP120 and wasnt all that impressed with it... however it did keep my 3700 OC'd to 2.6 cool for a couple of hours when the fan fell off of it.. ouch! POS FAN!!

Reason I ask about them is the angle that they are made seems the liquid inside would actually flow back to the right place and keep the cycle flowing well....??? Or am I just daydreaming?

After I installed my 120 I got to looking at it and it seemed that the liquid was going to be trapped in pipes and not be able to be vaporized so it could rise, however as I stated the HS alone cooled the CPU without a fan....
